If a city break's success can be measured by your enjoyment of it regardless of the weather, Istanbul is among the best getaway options in Europe. Beautiful Bosphorus: Istanbul sits at the junction of Europe and Asia. Not all routes were yet open, meaning travel by ferry - certainly my preference, particularly given what an attractive city Istanbul is - remained necessary if I was intending to cross the Bosphorus in both directions. The skies stayed almost clear for my last evening too, when I headed to 360 Istanbul, a rooftop bar with perfect views across the city.
